From Germany comes the songwriting duo Ian Maxwell (an exile-Brit) and Massimo Peter, who formed Keegan in autumn 2000. The bandname is derived from the ex-football pro Kevin Keegan, who, in the 70´s, was one of the most popular and best players in England. “Mighty Mouse” the short striker was lovingly called. His popularity helped him to be successful as a pop singer, too. Chris Norman (Smokie) produced two hits with him that even made it into the German charts.

And being a big fan, for Ian there was no other name for his band. The guys themselves say that not only the name Keegan sounds cool but Kevin´s play also mirrors their musical philosophy: uncomplicated, accurate Power Pop songs with hit potential and a strong British flavour. And that´s exactly how it is. The 14 songs come across very fresh, full of energy and extremely groovy. Ian´s charming and powerful voice nicely complements the music. The songs are perfect to dance to, have fun, sing along or do whatever you can come up with. Myself, I am not a big fan of this kind of typical Brit Pop songs but with “Keeping the Sparks”, ”City Lights” and “Pick it up” even I found something that appealed to me.

At the end, there is even an encore, which is not mentioned on the outside of the booklet. On the inside, though, you can find the lyrics under the name “Everything Flows”. In any case, everyone who loves that kind of music should listen to the album. And also everyone, who now got curious and wants to listen to something new.
