The band celebrated their breakthrough in 2005 when they were performing their song „In my Dreams“ at the Eurovision Song Contest. Although they did not win the Eurovision, they still became winners with this performance, because they reached Nr.1 in the Norwegian Charts, stayed there for 21 weeks and sold Platinum. Seven years have passed since then, and now Glam (vocals), Flash (Bass), Teeny (Guitar) and Sporty (Drums) release their fourth Studio Record.
“Wall Street” is the title of the newest achievement in the Wig Wam discography, and with this they deliver once more a masterpiece of Glam Rock. Straight away the first two songs “Wall Street” and “OMG (I wish I had a gun)” drive the trend indicator from 0 to 100 and grow into little anthems.
Lyrics that stick in your head and melodies you just have to dance to are offered on this album from the first until the last song.
However, it becomes every now and then a little bit more quiet, like for example the ballads “Tides will Turn” and “Things Money can’t buy”(only instrumental, with a great guitar-solo), but also those songs have their very own charm. Admittedly, the songs are every now and then quite similar, but I think that doesn´t cause a bad mood and the record is easy to listen to a couple of times in a row without getting boring. Sometimes the songs are a bit too much Rock and not enough Glam for my taste, because the band is just a Glam Rock Sensation, then I also wanna hear Glam. The first two songs and “Bleeding Daylight” are for sure the highlights of the record, but also the other tracks sound reasonable
