New Device are still quite unknown in Germany and elsewhere, even Wikipedia does not know a thing about them. But in their homeland, Great Britain, it looks quite different. And this is because the guys have already been on tour with the likes of Bon Jovi, Bullet For My Valentine and the Backyard Babies. But things will certainly change pretty soon as the guys have just released their new album “Here we stand” in Europe.
If you take a closer look at the album, there is no doubt that this band will grow even more in Great Britain and also in the rest of Europe. No matter what colour of Hardrock you prefer, you will find it here! Do you like hard rocking songs with sharp guitar riffs just like Volbeat? No problem, “Here we stand”, “Away from here” and “Feel the Wrath” should be the songs for you. Do you prefer emotional ballads with string arrangements? OK, just listen to “New York” and “Do or die”! What about more complex songs featuring acoustic and electric guitars? “Save your Life” and “End of Hope” are the answer!
No matter from which angle you look, “Here we stand” is a really strong album, both in terms of songwriting and also performance. For me, it is the newcomer record of the year so far!
