Van Dancko are all hailing from the Rhein/Main area, Germany, and have committed themselves to Hard Rock, mixed with Southern, Blues, Stoner and Alternative Rock. At the beginning of the record, I’m a bit reminded of Danko Jones – they just don’t sound as commercial as the Americans. The EP exclusively contains simple songs, which are far from being bad but, unfortunately, they don’t stick out from songs of similar bands, of which there are quite many. Song number three out of six, titled “Horny”, is probably the best one, at least for me, as lyrics, vocals and sound are all working well and harmoniously with each other. Van Dancko delivered an EP with good tracks and one should really, at least once, take a listen to the sound of the Germans. It’s nothing you haven’t heard before but it’s still worth to give it a try.
