Escapi Music has bought the rights of all those legendary Dynamo Festival recordings and intends to publish them piece by piece. The beginning is the DVD of Metal Church from the year 1991 when they were headliner.
The fact that Metal Church had been at the zenith of their career at that time, after albums like their legendary debut record or also “The Human Factor” – this one was released after severe line-up-changes – and that this is the first DVD in more than 20 years in the band´s history, makes this naturally very appealing, theoretically.
The fact that the recording technique has not been made suitable for DVDs in 1991 is understandable. And that there is no bonus material (from where?), and that the sound is quite simple or it had not been changed much to transport the original atmosphere, everything is understandable. But I cannot understand why this DVD should cost 20 €. For some Euros less this DVD could definitely be interesting not only for die-hard Metal Church fans and time witnesses but also for those, who didn’t succeed to see Metal Church live at their zenith.
This could be a reason why Metal Church have not announced this DVD on their websites…
