About 80-100 people came to see Betzefer at this very hot and humid day to the even hotter and more humid Logo. The opener Nayled should have started at 21 h, but as everyone (including the band) was outside and not quite in the mood to be punctual, there was a 30 min delay. STALKER as presenting media raffled four guest list invitations, but two winners seemed to prefer listening to Betzefer on CD in an ice cream parlour, they did not show up. What a pity.

Nayled come from Stade near Hamburg, and they offered well made modern Thrash Metal. Being more specific, singer Ron Brunke and his four guys reminded me a lot of Hatesphere, with a little Killswitch Engage. After the quite short show, that was really well performed, Nayled handed the stage over to the guys from Israel. (SA)

Betzefer
During the break the club was empty, but the situation changed immediately when four musicians from Israel started playing. Some visitors seemed so excited that they even ran into the club. Frontman Avital Tamir and his guys hammered their Thrash Metal into the audience. “Under”, “Down Low” and “Fuckin´ Rock´n´Roll” they dehydrated the sweating audience completely, just during the first 15 minutes. And who thought that the foursome had already done their best and won´t have many more songs left, was definitely surprised with Betzefer´s new material that contained much more distinctive bass and faster riffs. But also their stage presence was excellent. Rotem Inbar (git) and Mantan Cohen (bass) kept their hair rotating as if they had never done anything else, they posed with their instruments, quite professional and nice to watch, not at all arrogant. Avital Tamir offered a brilliant show, growls and vocals sounded like on CD, and he managed easily to inspire the audience. His appealing teddy bear face might have attracted a few groupies.

The highlight of the show was the AC/DC cover “Thunderstruck”, Betzefer could not have chosen a better song. Their interpretation of this classic was simply great. Everybody in the audience smiled, but then finally a blooper: When they started the first encore, Matan´s guitar was not plugged in. Yet they were unimpressed, quite amused they started once again and proved, that they are ready for their breakthrough and to rock the world. (ME)
