Every year comes the Christ child, but not only this. The Berlin Rock Band Pothead take care for generations of Hamburg fans presenting an annual allocation of heavy rock-blues-grunge-feeding. This time a few more beers were pushed over the bar, because the current hot Markthalle was filled slightly better than even in the years before.

They are called the Gentlemen of the Spree for their elegant wardrobe in a suit and tie. This time the outfit became more casual. Guitarist and vocalist Brad had been hovering just in time from Vancouver directly to Hamburg, without having done the noble twist in flight luggage.

Although the jetlag wasn´t noticeable, the concert was a bit calmer. Even the otherwise aggressive driving "Black War" developed rather smooth and relaxed. But the audience was satisfied and happy. From 10 to 100, presented a healthy moderate average age of the German population, which proves that Potheads music does not just make thirsty, but is also suitable for families.

From the previous two-month summer break had initially some dust blown away. Well, it happened that the bass accidentally interpreted a different song than the currently played. The little rhythmic confusion didn´t disturb anyhow.

Pothead put emphasis on traditions, and one of them could now be counted by Brad's duet with Sebastian. Of course, not vocally, but on shared percussion, to which the public intoned a appropriate chorus.

In the foyer of the Markthalle met alongside the dudes of the Stoner Rock scene also some different species, because in the small hall of the event site, the Marx, played with monsterous growls four young death metal band from Hamburg. For the audience of those the American-Berlin veterans, which heated the large room, were no idea.

As usual, there were still a whole bunch of encores. But even after the concert had been over and the audience had left, the band still didn´t had enough and moved to continue celebrations in St.Pauli clubs, so much fun the band had in any case after two months of abstinence swinging back to the hooves.

It remains to mention that now, finally after over three years the next studio album will await the release. If one is to give hope to the announcements, already in mid-October the CD and as well a LP version will be offered to the thirsty listeners.
