Darkness and chilling cold marked the beginning of the Children of Bodom gig in the center of Berlin. In front of Columbiahall gathered a lot of fans despite the „Finnish“ cold. Not quite punctually the doors opened after 19 h, and the show started already at 20 h. One Man Army entered stage first and warmed up for Ektomorf with a real heavy sound. Their show was much too short.

Without any introduction Ektomorf-frontman Zoltan Farkas managed to carry away with his charisma and fighter-attitude. Yet he repeated his „head-off-gesture“ routine all the time what became a bit dull after a while. A band full of fighting spirit and power, and good contact with their audience. It seemed that a lot of people had come just for Ektomorf. A great show, too fierce maybe for some people, but it really rocked the venue. Ektomorf have matured and developed their own style as live-band. Unfortunately there was no encore as it was time for Children Of Bodom.

After an one hour-break they appeared on stage to take over with their hit „Silent Night, Bodom Night“. Also Roope Ukk Latvala, guitarist and finally permanent bandmember, convinced fully and took some attention away from Alexi Laiho. A little break was used by drummer Jaska to perform a great solo, then they continued with „Trashed, Lost & Strungout“. Alexi impressed the audience with his guitar solos – it seems so easy when his fingers whizz across the strings. Hats off!!! Now his voice became a bit darker and hoarser which also adds to a more mature sound. During another break Alexi and keyboarder Janne fought a musical battle – cool gag, but it wasn´t the only one. Alexi had Janne drink beer from a bottle during his performance and later played „air keyboard“. After 1 1/2 hours and a couple of encores this show was unfortunately over.
