The KNUST in Hamburg was notorious in ancient time for its "Engtanzfeten" (close-dance-parties). They turned naturally to rather cozy and cuddly meetings. But in the early 90s also on harder gaits were droven: The Metal Mondays; Monday to Monday with three bands for a small entrance fee. The Knust owner remembered at these no longer celebrated concert series and has returned now to start with a METAL MONDAY REVIVAL again:

Blind Manīs Gun - the chick of the evening, as recently established in 2011 – made the opening. The club was already well filled, despite the relatively early hour. The guys on the instruments with frontwoman Nadine in sexy outfit pushed the coal into the furnace. Classic sound modeled on climate of the 70s to early 90s - from the 70s hard rock riffs from the 90s, the lighter hooks.

In between an exciting interpretation of Sabbathīs "War Pigs". The voice is a matter of taste, but in any case has the lady a vigorous throat and an assertive appearance with which she the fun that she and her men had well conveyed into the audience.

With a flying change, then stomped a dinosaur of the Hanseatic music scene on the stage: Even thought extinct, the Hamburg Wacken Open Air festival pioneers 5TH AVENUE have united again recently. And they want to know whatīs up. Recently, even at the Hamburg Metal Days in the program, they are busily engaged to land a CD on the planet early next year.

Their music is actually less attributable to the metal, rather a powerful rock with a distinctive talent for snappy melodies and on the stage for a truly explosive energy with - in particular by vocalist Oliver Peters transported - enthusiasm. The joy on stage was like a warm wave that swept into the audience and there it was celebrated accordingly. Very nice show! Their career should definitely be sponsored by a shampoo company because such hair fullness in the age is either unnatural or consequence of an excellent hair care product. What do women want – all? No, just such hair.

The hall is full, the mood perfectly. Here the Hamburg band Chalice - also as 5th Avenue once represented at the legendary Metal Mondays and on their published CD samplers, but since then constant in the business - had only to dive in. A good-humored Gino Raschke impressed with his vocal presence, flanked on the left by an ever radiant laughing bassist, who took care of the motion dynamics on the stage, to the right as a counterpoint to a more static gifted, but nonetheless excellent guitarist. As at 5th Avenue, the strings lineup was supported in the background of lush keyboard/organ sounds. Melodic rock at its finest.

A worthy prelude to the forthcoming Metal Monday sessions at Knust. More rock`nīroll than Metal, but by less innovative and or modern, as more aligned by the significant nostalgic retro mood for the timelessness Old Rugged leather jackets, rockers, bikers and those who have yet to come, with a sense for party without gloom or brutal end-time hardness. Beautiful stuff.
