The story: Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn´t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn´t stand each other. "Monsters University" unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends. (source: Walt Disney)
The movie: Monsters University sadly cannot come up to the same level as it´s predecessor. The protagonists are cute and some jokes are good, but the film fails to amaze. The movie mixes Van Wilder and other college comedies into an animated format and that´s about it. There are no surprises and a really boring storyline, because it seems that the theme has had all there is, squeezed out, or they invested too little in the storyline, or they just should have gotten Pete Docter in the director´s chair again.
Conclusion: Monsters University is worth watching for kids, but the adults have to pack in a lot of caffeine. Nonetheless, it is cute.
