England 1966, at the birth of rock´n´roll. From the transistors of the public radio BBC pop music is sounding only meagre 2 hours a day. But a handful of crazy guys on a ship near the coast are bothered by this situation and decide to make their own thing ... the crew of Radio Rock Revolution illegally broadcasts their music 24 hours a day and exactly hits the nerve of time with it. So they can count every other inhabitant of the island to their audience. However, the "pirate broadcast station" is a thorn in the flesh of the government. They want to annihilate it by all means...

This comedy is a pure popcorn movie. More, however, it does not want to be. The plot is predictable and therefore endued with little depth. But this is only the base for countless jokes. 8 freaks with different quirks offer humour for everyone's taste - from the weed smoking hippie or a bit too self-confident chief moderator to a slightly taciturn womanizer. You can actually see how much fun the actors had with the roles and at the shooting. The soundtrack really kicks ass: The Who, Jimi Hendrix, The Kinks - to name just a few artists. Music and movie are pure nostalgia - it´s like a unique time travel into the 60s.

So if you are planning to go to the cinema soon, then this comedy is indispensable in any case for any music fan as well as for any fan of good entertainment.

Henrik Detjen
