Tanzwut visited Moskow and St. Petersburg, Russia during their "Weiße Nächte Tour", and it was already the second time we could celebrate with our Russian fans: On March 22, 2012, we once again took on this adventure in quite a good mood.

Our first stop was Moscow. When we arrived we met the journalist Kira who showed us Moscow by night, which ended with traditional food and Vodka (thanks, Kira!). The way back turned out to be much more adventurous than we thought, because Streetteam Berlin, who had joined us on this trip, missed the Moskow Metro stop. After a short search and thanks to Kira´s help we all finally managed to catch the last Metro to the hotel.

Next morning we went to P!PL-Club where we began with our concert preparations. Everybody was waiting for the sound check, which took place with a 2 hour delay, because a part of the backline was still missing. After we finally finished the sound check we took time to visit the Red Square during Friday´s rush hour. Another chance to get familiar with Moscow´s metro system.
This time the group managed to stay together, and after visiting Red Square, souvenir shopping and a short meeting with the Taiko-drummers of Yamato – who were also playing in Moskow at this weekend – we got back to the club to start our first gig.
The fans cheered us loudly even before the show, and right after the first song a huge party was going on. We could rely on the crowd, they knew all the lyrics and just went crazy. As final treat we surprised the fans with the Russian folk song Katjuscha. It only took a few seconds, and the whole crowd joined Teufel in singing the Russian lyrics.

After the concert we went right away to the railway station, therefore unfortunately there was hardly any time for giving autographs or talking with people. In a very good mood we managed to catch the night train to St. Petersburg, and during the trip we celebrated with our support act Mordor, the promoter and friends (who were on the same train) until the early morning.

Finally we had reached the ”white nights” city – this enchanting metropolis which is famous for it´s long summer nights and summer solistice where the sun disappears behind the horizon for only a little while. A spectacle, as the lack of darkness renders quite a spooky radiance to the city´s appearance.
St. Petersburg welcomed us on this day with an icy breeze but bright sun light. After a short rest at the hotel we went to the Glavclub to prepare our next gig. We were a bit more relaxed in comparison to Moscow, because we knew that there will be enough time for sightseeing the following day.

The concert was once a gain a blast, for the fans and the band as well. Thanks to Ardor the show was spiced up with Russian Vodka that was handed out – after Teufel´s invitation „Na Sdorowje“ – to the people in the hall, which surely helped that the concert´s vibe soon reached its peak.
As finale we again played Katjuscha, which turned out to be such a blast that we were called back 5 times to play the tune on the bag pipe. And there was the demand for 2 further encores, until the audience finally allowed us to leave the stage.
After the show we gave autographs and in return received many gifts from fans (just like at Moskow). Both shows left us with fond memories, and we are already looking forward to another tour next year.
After the gig we also celebrated Zwilling´s second year with Tanzwut, as his first gig with the band happened back then at Glavclub in St. Petersburg.

After 3 busy days we used the rest of our time to split up in small groups for sightseeing, with our friends as gudes (thanks, Maria! Thanks, Urri! Thanks, Leonid!) The city´s highlights were naturally a must, e.g. Eremitage, Isaak cathedral, Peter and Paul fortress and the armored cruiser Aurora.

We safely returned to Berlin on March 26, with a lot of happy memories of this exciting tour.
