If you are into Folk or medieval sounds, should definitely give this project a try; Acetre represent the Folklore of Extremaduras (Western Spain, at the border to Portugal); this is the seventh CD of this act, mixing traditional music from the area of Extremaduras and their own compositions. Some of the songs are sung in the dialect from Portugal´s neighbouring region, which reminds somehow of Portugese language – and this is another feature that has you listen more closely. With African percussion, the Arabic Ud, hurdy gurdy and the characteristic choir arrangements – which can adopt some sacral dimension (Rama de Alecrim), Dehesario offers a spectrum from meditative (Latifundia) towards tracks that invite for a dance (Yeyitu-Vira). Indeed something special!
