Maybe you have already heard about Christan Tolle? The man has many talents: he has played with many bands, acted as a studio musician, he has been a music journalist for a professional magazine and a German public-broadcasting institution, he has his own label CTM (christonesmusic) and, also his very own project, the Christian Tolle Project, shortly named C.T.P.

After two successful predecessors, his third record “The Higher They Climb”, conjured up together with co-producer Michael Voss, has now been released. Of course, a few guest singers have signed up to join Tolle on his project: David Reece (Accept, Reece, Bangalore Choir), Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot, Rough Cutt, Kind Kobra), Leon Goewie (Vengeance) and Michael Voss (Michael Schenker, Casanova,Mad Max). Already the first track “Too Young” is a pleasure to listen to, really good rock with chunky guitar riffs and the scratchy voice of Paul Shortino. The album goes on with “The Higher They Climb”, a song one can immediately sing along. Even though Leon Goewie´s singing style is something completely different, it is not less interesting. With “The Prince Of Love”, a jiggy piece and David Reece we have the next great vocal artist. Track number four, the great “Blue Butterfly Day” features Michael Voss and his rocky voice helps to keep the song in your musical memory for some time.

With four, each in their very own way, great rock singers, there should be at least as many songs on this 12 track record that you could like. Moreover, each song is great and fits perfectly to the assigned artist and his voice. Musically, the whole record is top-notch: great guitar riffs and solos, amazing drums, cool bass parts and on some songs some hot keyboard sounds – just what every rock fan longs for. You can easily that each artist knows how to do his job. So, taken together, They Higher They Climb is a record that simply sounds fantastic, is pure fun to listen to and it rocks your socks off. Ergo, make sure to check it out!
