DVD deluxe edition / blue-ray in DTS-HD

The last concert from the last Placebo world tour took place in September 2010 in the London Brixton Academy as the 6th studio album “Battle for the Sun” was being promoted. The bonus material for the DVD is a poster and six bonus tracks from various festivals: “Kitty Litter” (Paleo Festival – Switzerland 2009), “Speak in Tongues” (Guardalaria Festival – Mexico 2009), „For What It´s Worth“ (Summer Sonic Festival – Japan 2009), „Breathe Underwater“ (Area 4 Festival – Germany 2010), „Bright Lights“(Open Air Festival - Switzerland) and „Trigger Happy Hands“ (Pukkelpop Festival - Belgium). Subtitles are in English, German, French and Spanish.

The Deluxe edition of “We Come in Pieces” is worth it because the double DVD deluxe and the Blue-Ray have the one hour documentary “Coming Up for Air” and the short film “Trigger Happy Friends.”

The live-concert:
The atmosphere of the show was recaptured very well. The priorities were also set in with the seven songs from the last album. The other 14 songs that Brian Molko belted out were evergreens like “Nancy Boy”, “Every You, Every Me” and “Bitter End”. There was just about nothing to complain about when it came to the picture and sound quality and it seemed almost like there was no sound enhancement in the post production as it sounded just as it does live. A real relief from the otherwise perfectly polished productions.

The documentation:
The one hour long documentary “Coming up for Air” was filmed during the mammoth tour. There were moments saved during the tour of 143 concerts in 44 lands. This documentary is really worth seeing –this isn´t just for the hardcore fans as there are interesting interviews as well as the obligatory backstage material.

The Dreambrother short film from Andreas Nilsson had cinematically integrated the song „Trigger Happy“. Lyrics like “The world is run by clowns with trigger happy hands“ are perfectly reflected. The song itself came out as a digital download in a campaign with the clothing line “Atticus” and before the short film came out, I didn´t know the song, but I knew I had to get it if it hadn´t come with the DVD as a live bonus track. The short film itself was unsettling and optically surreal as well as strong. A torn, kinky childhood, violence, communes and peer pressure. What if the protagonists in the Manson-ranch would have been clowns? Whoever doesn´t like clowns to begin with should not see “Trigger Happy Hands”, the rest get a perfect cinema to the song.
mmen das perfekte Kino zum Song.

Buying is worth it this time. There are a few points missing for a full 10/10
