With Crashdïet and the DJs Jussi69 (The 69 Eyes) and Pekka Heino (Brother Firetribe / Leverage) Helsinki`s rock club "On The Rocks" invites to the first "Hair Rock Special" and already at 10 p.m. the stairs which lead downstairs from the bar to the club area are overcrowded; so many people have accepted the invitation. The club is bursting at the seams!

The sleaze rockers from Sweden thanks their fans for it by letting them not waiting too long and so they take first the stage and then the whole club by storm. Especially how singer Simon Cruz sweeps across the stage from the first second almost non-stop is absolutely incredible... For me it`s the first Crashdïet concert, for the audience it`s another premiere because the meanwhile third singer in this band makes his live debut on Finnish territory. In view of that much wild action it`s difficult to name highlights `cause the whole show is a highlight. Whether songs of the new longplayer "Wild Generation" like "So Alive" and "Rebel" or classics which "need no introduction anymore" (quote Simon) like "Riot In Everyone": The crowd cheers, claps and sings along.

For "Out Of Line" the rock tempo is reduced, the lights go down and the band let the audience sing the chorus ... goosebumps! For the intro of "Native Nature" Simon takes a harmonica out of his trouser pocket, in between the guys enjoy a short Jägermeister break, and despite all the fun tribute is paid to the deceased Dave Lepard, the first singer who founded the band – with a sea of cigarette lighter flames during "It`s A Miracle". After that the band releases the exhausted fans with "Wild Generation". The club empties out quickly, so the DJ sessions stay quite unregarded, it`s a pity.

Unfortunately the atmosphere in Tampere on the following day isn`t quite as good as on the evening in Helsinki."Klubi" is at least twice the size of "On The Rocks", maybe that`s why the club seems to be comparatively empty; but also the vibe leaves a lot to be desired. Nitrokiss supports Crashdïet this time, and this band is rather tolerated than perceived. A shame because this to me unknown band offers quite good music. My first impression: That`s how Lacrimas Profundere would sound with more originality, rock attitude and without the permanent "tributes" to Ville Valo. The Finns around frontman Durden mainly present songs from their brandnew second opus "Blindfolded" like "Bad Breath" and "Easy". Particularly amusing is the ventilator on stage which only purpose seems to be inflating the mane of the guitar players... With their last song the concert visitors are surprisingly leaving their seats and go to the stage - but only to get the best places for Crashdïet. Not what the guys from Tampere would have deserved!

So much hotter is the welcome for the guys from Stockholm when they open their show with "Caught In Despair". The setlist including the Jägermeister break is almost exactly the same as the day before and singer Simon apologises for being not in excellent form because they partied too much the previous night. We want to forgive them `cause their show is wild and energetic anyway and at least during the show you can forget what else is missed here in comparison to Helsinki. For example after the show the DJ plays Lady Gaga and other dodgy kinds of music, which lets me run to my bus back to Helsinki quickly... By the way, in the beginning of September 2010 Crashdïet will be supporting the only Sweden show of the old master Ozzy Osbourne!
