This weekend summer was back in Switzerland with +25 Celsius, therefore Zürich turned out a perfect concert location on sunday, no matter if you spent the afternoon at river Limmat or at the lake. And what better conclusion of such a day than listening to great music.

Scream Baby Scream
When I finally arrived at Werk 21, those Italians were already playing. On such a small stage – which hosted two drum kits and amplifiers besides the band - there is hardly enough room for 5 musicians. Moreover, if the venue is sold out, the narrow features of Werk 21 neither provide good acoustics nor a good view onto the stage.

Luckily this was not the case tonight and there is enough room to watch this Horror Shock Metal Band. Their music is nice to listen to, and their make up / style provides something worth to watch. http://www.myspace.com/screambabyscreamrock

Stoneman
Basically I had not expected so many people to show up for Stoneman, because the band has recently played here. Still more people than before squeeze into the room but keep a certain distance to the stage – perhaps not such a bad idea. Singer Mikki Chixx occasionally slashes out with the microphone stick, so that fans right at the stage might have suffered from injuries.

Chixx and his guys perform wildly, as usual, and new bass player Iron Cris seems to fit in well. He sticks to his part, although Mikki constantly attacks him or Mr. Fly – hair-pulling or kiss-on-cheek, they have to endure it all. Once again Stoneman prove that their cool music heats up the crowd. It´s only their attitude that the guys don´t receive a better response. You just love them or hate them – and sometimes both. http://www.stonemanmusic.ch/

Lord of the Lost
For me their first Trash Fest Gig 2010 which I got to see was a total failure. The second this year, however, blew me away. No wonder I am curious about the Germans tonight, and I am surprised that the crowd has decreased in comparison with their support Stoneman. But extremely loud fans in the crowd compensate for that.

I am impressed by singer Chris Harms, who would not raise any attention just walking down the street. But as soon as he is on stage, he seems to drop a veil and impersonates pure masculinity by his charisma and attitude. He knows how to entertain fans and wrap them around his finger and usually outshines the rest of the band. However, the program was not well selected for my taste, there were too many slow songs, or songs with slow parts, and also starting with a slow song did not quite raise the spirits in the first 30min. Still Lord of the Lost managed to convince their audience. www.lordofthelost.de

Summary: Despite the poor lights, too much fog and intense heat in the club, it was a great evening.

By the way: If you could not catch Lord of the Lost and Support on tour, here are some impressions of the weird LOTL tour life http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7ANH5tdgi4
