First of all a „Wow“ – a sold out Color Line Arena is a weird, fascinating and even a little scary impression. Well, and the accuracy regarding the beginning of the concert is unusual for me as I am used to the Markthalle. Right at 8 pm Exilia entered the stage and tried to please the Rammstein audience.
Succeeded or not is hard to say, at my opinion they didn’t. The 40 minutes playtime has been more boring and monotonous. Everything in the style of „Stop playing God“, you know.
After a 15 minutes break for take down and lots of traffic at the beer- and food-stands, the secret of the mysterious black curtain on stage (it has been there all night) was revealed.
With an almost dangerous good loudness that made even me using my ear stoppers, Rammstein started with their new title track „Reise, Reise“. At first I’de been a little sceptical, how their live-performance was going to be be, but this gig really knocked me out - from the older material like „Sehnsucht“ to classics like „Rammstein“, „Sonne“, „Ich will“ and of course „America“ and „Mein Teil“. For this song ("Mein Teil") singer Till put on a blood drenched apron and pulled a nice little cooking pot on stage, which he fired at quite well (pyrotechnic at its best!).
By the way, I have to note down that Flake sat in that pot all the time!! Very interesting!!! So, this evening was worth seeing and after 2 hours of Rammstein rumble I have had enough. I don’t know if it will be such an experience the next time, but this time the points are rising up!
