Musically one associates with Magdeburg rather the teenie-scream inducing boys from Tokio Hotel, but the town by the river Elbe also has some other bands to offer, like for example Eskimo Baby who already cause mischief since 1990. After several changes in musical styles in the past, the guys from Magdeburg release with “Actors Suicide” now a rather Stoner Rock orientated album which, however, completely passes me by. There´s no direction at all and especially the ever-repetitive passages (in instrumentation and singing), which according to the press release takes on “hypnotic proportions”, sound for me personally rather close to the point where it becomes annoying, if not even already passed it. If you really have to, then the best way to endure that album would be under the influence of some substance - or maybe Tokio Hotel aren´t that bad after all??!?
