Since the Dutch Death Metal veterans had their comeback two years ago with "La Muerte", it was clear that they started a new chapter in the band´s history. The new album "Rise To Ruin" contains all elements that are typical for the band: Merciless heavy riffs, the monsttrous voice of Jan-Chris De Koeijer, blastbeats, but still there are melodies and groove - and sometimes you find all that in just one song (Babylon´s Whores)... Gorefest offer 10 extremely heavy, extremely catchy tracks that go way beyond genre limits - a bit Progressive Metal, a bit Meshuggah - but still they stick to their own particular style. Plus the excellent sound, the band worked for the first time with Mr. Danish Dynamite Tue Madsen at his famous Antfarm Studios in Aarhus, Danemark. In other words, this CD should be part of every good record collection!
