The Austrian band Final Aphorism have been existing since 2001, but only now their first self-produced CD finally hits the market. According to the title influences of various musical periods as well as the musical development of the band are presented here. The six guys from Vienna are influenced by many different music styles, therefore you find heavy Metal riffs as well as baroque tunes (e.g. the soft track “814” or “YAOS”) or elements of Irish and Scandinavian folk music. “My Murdering Kind” for example reminds me of Moonsorrow, yet the CD as a whole rather triggers memories of their equally ingenious compatriots Hollenthon. That means: Progressive, melodious and still with obvious Death Metal/Grind influences (growls, rhythms). A special treat for some songs is the throat singing from central Asia ... great, go and get it!
