An interesting project this one is, considering the new wave of rock/alternative bands of teenage/young adult boys: Tokio Hotel has clearly opened a new door for the German youth. Shenaniganz are of course younger and less experienced, but you can sense the trend nonetheless.
A school project of some four classmates turned out more successful than just another school band (they won the SchoolJam 2006 and entered the "Emergenza" final), and given that those youngsters have already tasted the stage of Rock Am Ring on their local German ground and went even a bit further abroad to foreign rock stages, you´re suddenly curious what´s the fuss. So familiarize yourself with it before it´s too huge and famous to comprehend.
“Our Finger Fist Fight” is a very decent mix of alternative rock with some American influenced tunes, only a lot less eyeliner and fingerless gloves, so leave your emo kit at home. Lyrics wise, all purely English and not very original, which makes it easy to follow and sing along. I can see this a good cd to have at some school night or a home party, the tunes are well-headbang-able so to say, and rebellious enough to at least catch the attention at first.
Quite a promising band after all.
