Those Italians are obviously influenced by bands who are located a little bit further North in Europe. Founded 2004 by the brothers Kris (voc, piano), Lex (git) und Dario (bass) plus Drummer Xander, the band began their attempt to combine classical music, Metal and Gothic atmospheres. Well, as mentioned above, they would not be the first... After their demo and their myspace-site raised attention (60.000 hits in a few months), they finally release their first long player “Seed Of Ancient Pain”. And it´s quite good! Naturally, the influences of Nightwish, Entwine or HIM (just listen to “Woods Of Madness” or “As Snow We´d Fall”) can be heard. Yet those piano parts and a portion of drama (a bit too much for my taste at “After The End”) offer variety; moreover, “See Through The Darkness” is a great song which alone makes this CD worth buying. Who likes the bands mentioned, will surely like this one.
