Those four Brasilians, formerly Shaaman, have some plus points already with ex-Angra-drummer Ricardo Confessori and singer Thiago Bianchi who has recently replaced André Matos (ex-Angra). Their new CD marks a development away from classical Power Metal to a much more progressive style that actually fits well. Because I think the best songs are those where this slightly annoying genre-typical speed drumming is cut out. Powerful vocals, Prog Metal ballads that touch you but still don´t sound like Kitsch, with their own particular style – great! Only the title track (with a touch of Folk), “The Yellow Brick Road” or “One Life” - excellent vocals! - would be worth buying this album. If you like Vanishing Point, Dream Theater or Sonata Arctica you should definitely check this one, too. But then, in between, somehting like an ice cold shower, when the Brazilians act too much like old Helloween.... oh no.... otherwise there surely would have been another point more ...
