Indeed, a remarkable first 5-track-promo demo, that the Austrians Thomas Knoller (vocals), Ernst Molden (guitar), Christoph Schwaiger (guitar), Rebecca Fercher (bass), Christian Herbst (drums) present here! The band was founded in 2005 and defines their sound as Modern Melodic Death Metal – but in my opinion there´s not so much „Death“ left, I´d rather switch it with „Prog“ - and they could just as well be Scandinavian. That means, heavy but still melodic, growls and clean vocals/catchy choruses. In Flames (in their Clayman phase) seemed to have some influence here, but still Shadowcry sound fresh, original and they – for me this is always a good sign – cannot be put easily into a certain category. Moreover, the CD sound is pretty professional, professional is also the band presentation style – so they should be able to grab a deal pretty soon...
