The Arcane Order is the brainchild of guitar player Flemming C. Lund (Invocator, ex-Autumn Leaves) and began in 2000 named Scavenger. After some troubles the band finally came up with their debut in 2006 "The Machinery Of Oblivion", receiving a Danish Metal Award nomination for best debut album in the same year. Now the Danish-Swedish quintet presents the sequel“In The Wake Of Collisions”, recorded in September 2007 by producer Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios, Ribe, Denmark. High Speed Metal crossing the borders to Death, Thrash and Black Metal, still melodious despite being totally brutal, as dramatic as Dimmu Borgir in their glory days, the screech-vocals remind you of Cradle-Dani, but remain a bit one-dimensional. The sound reminds you of Soilwork, Pain and Holy Moses, with a hyper activity that could be Devin Townsend´s. Now you perhaps get the point, what to expect. Musically it´s brilliant, but for me this non-stop-high speed is a bit too much. I´d rather had more of groove, like „Eruptions Of Red“ and „Horizons Buried“, or some moments just to catch a breath in between...
