Who found e.g. the last Dream Theater output a bit disappointing, here is your alternative: Malpracitce. The Finns have been active since 1994 and have now with their second CD for Spinefarm returned to their roots, Thrash Metal. Anssi Kippo (Children Of Bodom) proved to be once again a good choice as a producer, the sound is flawless, you hear every complex bass line, the riffs have poser and when Aleksi Parviainen sings the fragile ballad "Waves", he seems to be standing right beside you.

Apropos vocals, it is difficult to accept that the band has only ONE singer. From clear and high, a bit like Psychotic Waltz ("Maze Of Inequity"), deep Ville Valo tones ("Deadline") up to rough snotty Rock/Thrash style ("Deception"), this guy can do everything. And the band has despite all progressive music not forgotten how to write songs... But nevertheless, if you are into real complex stuff, just listen to the title track. Prog-Fans can just go and grab this one, and all the others should give it a try.
