Well, somehow very impressive! Paul Epic – power lifting world champion, professional motorcycle racer and skydiver, is definitely an adrenalin junkie! Seems that these fields of activity have been exhausted, therefore he`s searching for the next kick in rock music. As you would expect he`s very convincing in this part too, with producer and songwriter Mike K and pro-musician Chad Gendason as well as Emmy nominated ex Exposé singer Kelly Moneymaker the multitalent found himself a winning team. Producer Mike K, who worked with many chart breakers like Nelly Furtado, Elton John or Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, knows what it takes. He worked his magic, together with Paul Epic and Chad Gendason, on a modern LA chart-rock album, one to sing and dance along. Paul Epic is able to keep up with his sympathetic voice and his partly sensitive, partly rock- stereotype lyrics more than just adequately. The title of the album „South of Heaven, North of Hell“ alludes to a certain ambivalence, which may be meant to reflect the character and biography of Paul Epic – gospel singer to hellracer. You can find both in the songs, ballads like „Proud“ and „Say you`ll Stay Tonight“ show his sensitive site, poser-songs like „Faster“ and „Last Stop on a Long Fall“ bring out the daredevil. To finally resolve the question „Paul Epic – angel or devil?“, a part of the CD sales goes to the children aid organization Make a Wish. So good beats evil in the end!
