The first riffs of Damnzal, the album of the Australian band with the same name, immediately make me smile. Dirty Girl RockīnīRoll with a portion of Punk Attitude, music for partying and singing-along. You cannot overhear the influences from 70s Glam and Hardrock, but the groove comes from the dirty Punk part. Most songs are not longer than 3 min but always hit the mark. You can imagine how exciting they are live as you can hardly sit still just listening to the CD. Slower songs like "I feel used" are convincing, too. Singer Tania Pennisi knows how to transmit emotions, always with a dirty touch in her voice, which convinces even in those less party-like songs. In their homecountry Damnzal have been quite successful, now they are about conquering the rest of the world. Sure, they donīt invent RockīnīRoll once again, and stylistically you can compare them with many bands, e.g. Murderdolls. Still well-done and a lot of fun.
