Only a few probably know the name One Way Mirror because the five guys, who joined together in 2006, release only now their first album. However, One Way Mirror is not a bunch of greenhorns but a group of very good and respected musicians. The band consists of Guillaume Bideau (voc, Mnemic), Dirk Verbeuren (dr, Soilwork) and members of Lyxzanzia and Scarve. So I hoped to hear a first class Modern Metal beast. But my hope was only partially fulfilled. „One Way Mirror“ starts really strong with „???“: Fantastic hooklines, cool chorus and a hell of a sound eruption. Well, at least the last point is a constant on the whole album. Guillaume and David Totvin (git) have done a very good job here. Among a few killers, just like „21st century“, the really heavy Frankie Goes to Hollywood cover „Relax“ and the already mentioned „???“ there are also many average songs. But there are not really weak songs. How should that be possible with so many fantastic musicians? I am really curious if One Way Mirror will establish themselves as a real band or if it will only be a short-time project. The first steps into a gloriuos future are done.
