Although the title of this CD suggests that, you wonīt immediately snooze off listening to it, itīs way too raw and dirty. But sort of hypnotic trance is possible, especially concerning the instrumental tracks, as the Finns Micki (vocals), Aki (bass), Mikko (drums), Ismo (guitar) are dedicated to Stoner Rock. Sometimes they even cross over to Doom Metal. The production is "earthy" and raw which suits the music well, and explainable because the band financed this debut album themselves. The song material is solid and catchy, but I still miss a "hit song" or a particular sound that could take Devillac out of the shadows of their idols. Who likes Queens Of The Stone Age & Co should definitely give this band a try.
