At first I have to say: He does not explode, according to the bandname ´E For Explosion´, but he reinvents the heartbeat for sure - just like the album is called. Yep, that is what Jamison Covington has achieved.
´Reinventing The Heartbeat´ is pop and soulfood, which tastes well like guitar- and synth-sounds in many variations, with depth and openness.
It is a well-done first solo record of Covington, who was part of ´JamisonParker´. Before his solo work he had a major deal with JamisonParker, but he quit, because he was sick of telling him, what the record should be about and how it should be. The end of ´JamesonParker´ was the beginning of ´E For Explosion´ and a pretty good beginning. He made it his way, and there are no questions left according to the intensions of ´Reinventing The Heartbeat´, but one: ´ Is it too soft?´ . Everyone should form his/her own opinion. I needed 3 times of listening to understand, what Covington and his music want to ´say´.
