Good girls go to heaven – bad girls go everywhere. The girls Shelly (vocals), Bee (guitar), Clik (vocals, guitar) and Steph (bass) from THE VAINE are, however, not really bad but what they and the only male member Jack (drums) offer here is definitely not coming from above. Wild, youthfully bigmouthed and energyladen that´s how they present themselves on the album cover and on their MySpace homepage. This much about optical impressions.

Already after a short playing time this whole thing is confirmed also musically. You shouldn´t be one of the fainthearted but have an open mind for snotty vocals and hard riffs from the girls. Easily you take to their mix of emo and screamo hard rock. Young but not immature, loud but not ear-splitting the band shows what they have learnt and mastered since their debut EP „Regrets and Hollow Threats“. The album has a bit of everything ranging from the radio-friendly „Oh Oh Chontelle“ over the ballad „March Of Bastille“ to the smasher and opener „Aim And Fire“. The Aussies leave nothing to be desired and mericlessly give their all. When you consider that the 5 have an average age of only 19 and already now they kick some serious ass then one can imagine that the big career is just waiting for them.

In their homecountry they are already big stars and now they also want to conquer Europe and maybe you´ll see them very soon on a stage near you.

Verdict: „The Australian youth gone wild!“ – I couldn´t agree more.
