Midnight Reign is a surprisingly stylish combination of sympho-glam, slightly industrial with a hint of some hard rock. At the same time they manage without too many trashy elements, so poorly faked by modern hard rock wanna-bes. Instead, this US American act uses beautiful cello and violin parts, along with impressive guitar solos ( by the handsome vocalist) to create their own well-recognizable sound. If only there were more distorted industrial effects, it could be a decent follow-up of Marylin Manson, but sounding as it is, Midnight Reign is a dark pleasure to a tormented Goth´s ear, in its own right. Classic parts done by cello and violin bring certain elegance and romanticize the album, despite all the "666" lyrical contents of it. Especially the track "Breathe On Me" is quite memorable. And additionally to everything else, this appears to be a band with strong visual style and dress-sense. Now this is a rarity among modern bands of this genre. Also check out:
