It's sad, but what can you do about it? The life of a critic is a very varied one. Sometimes, rarely but surely, you receive cds of bands you really like and who produce some really good music; then there are bands that you didn't know before, but who turn out to be a pleasant surprise. Then there are those that you have no idea what to do with and finally there are bands that you simply cannot find words for. Still Born definitely belong to the latter category. The record company describes the music on "Larva" as „Grunge made in Germany“. In how far this is true, is difficult to say, but what is clear rightaway is that part of this band doesn't even know how to play their instruments properly. The songs seem to become more and more annoying as the 40 minutes of the album progress and the singing doesn't have any sort of memorable parts. Perhaps Still Born has some potential, but so does the school band at the youth center. This band has no place here at Stalker, or at any other decent music magazine. They really need some more time in a rehearsal room, and my goodness, that is putting it mildly.
