OSI were founded in 2003 by Kevin Moore (ex-Dream Theater) and Jim Matheos (Fates Warning). The line up of OSI, which has more in common with a project than with a band, is completed by Gavin Harisson (Porcupine Tree) on the Drums.
But those who expect an album which sounds like a mixture of those mentioned bands are really wrong. The major party here are not guitars, it`s the synthies and ambiences and all other style of electronic sounds. But also the guitar tracks have nothing in common with Dream Theater & Co. They sound more like Thrash Metal or even Metalcore guitars (just listen to the opener `The Escape Artist`, which also is the most catchy song of the album). Those, who are ready for experiments, progression and new sounds should do fine with this one.
