CHECKMATE, GONZALES` new record starts off with the advice, that they have nothing to lose. It seems that it is as they say, because they have no own website or maybe I did not find it. Anyway, CHECKMATE rocks and rolls the whole 29 minutes, without a break. Fans of Mötörhead, Misfits and Stooges will get what they enjoy! Impulsive drums, typical guitars and simple chords make the record catchy. The voice and the singing of Markey Moon harmonizes perfectly with the arrangement- that means a vocally dirty dozen is in company with the instruments.
It is a pity, that the Italians did not record this album 10 years ago, because it had become a success over night.
A funny track is the cover of RING OF FIRE (J. Cash), they play this track in just 2 minutes.
At all: CHECKMATE is entertaining, anytime.
