Puszta, Balaton, Budapest – that´s what comes to your mind when you think about Hungary but in the land of Piroshka and paprika music is played as well and it´s not that bad at all. On “The End”, the second album from Sin of Kain, you get death metal with clear black metal influences. Hard, old school death metal sounds are combined with soft, almost classical, atmospheric keyboard sounds and fierce vocals which is, funnily, especially well done on the song “Undone”. The cover art of the album, designed by bassist Hjules who has done some creative work also for other bands including Grave Digger and Annihilator, furthermore brings out the gloomy atmosphere. Negatively could be said that here and there the songs are unnecessarily long-stretched, otherwise “The End” won´t hopefully be the end of this band.
