Caddieshack is a punk/emo-rock band from Flensburg, Germany, and they have a new album for the market. The genre of the music is a nice blend of punk/emo-rock with Metal elements within it, and the album as a whole has its defects as well as positive aspects.

At times the album produces some original sounds, but unfortunately a lot of the time it sounds all too familiar. At the first try, songs like “Hey, Hey, Turn on the Radio” sound like they would work brilliantly live, but on record, the tempo is too slow to feel any true energy or power. On the second try one finds oneself a victim of the simple, yet effective rythum.

Instrumentally and vocally the band shows some promise. The screams of the second vocalist push the music out of normality in the same fashion as Linkin Park. On the other hand, the pure parts of the singing are not bad, but rather common. The riffs share the same problem; even though they are not badly played, they sound slightly too used. However, at the end of the day, the simplicity is one thing, that draws the audience to the music.

Before they can reach higher musical achievements, Caddieshack must practice and work the mediocrity away. Within this album most of the riffs are slightly overused, but the beats and vocals save it from this tragedy. Furthermore, as the band grows, perhaps they will be able to make songs from themes other than heartbreak and escape.
