Reversion released their first full-length „King of Deceit“ already a year ago. The band members themselves are however no rookies and so singer Aleksi Parviainen and drummer Toni Paananen work their magic also in another band, Malpractice. Like with Malpractice there are mostly progressive elements that dominate the sound of Reversion, you can clearly hear the influence of classical prog bands like Rush especially in the rhythm section. The vocals are, however, for my taste a little too cheesy here and there – see power metal and similar stuff. But if you think about the Death Metal glut here in Finland then Reversion are a very interesting change to the picture but in the end I still have to agree with the comment the band got before they signed with Kampas Records “nice but not now!”
