OHRENFEINDT is no band with a big hopp-la, no band which has to hide its unability with lots of effects. “Auf die Ohren!!!” doesn´t sound spectacularly and has to fight to get attention, other bands in this genre get that with lotsa bombast and a heavy use of effects. All mid speed Songs, no experiments in Songwriting and solid guitars. Bass and Drums are not that everyday business. Alright, it´s a live-album, but not genre-like produced and doesn´t fit into anything. Chris has a very deep and warm sounding voice with many facets, providing the music with its own charisma. Rock´n roll without big depths or hights, always a solid level, never disturbing, and no deep impacts. Let´s assume Rock´n roll would be a trade, they would handle that perfectly, but "Auf die Ohren" won´t be a break through, as igniting ideas are missing.
