Sorry Biggy, but you need more cords. The simple fault of the music in question here is lack of variety and an awfully boring sound –that does however show some potential. Playing with three or four chords through a whole album and making it a tight fit would be an awesome feat, but this time it just didnīt happen.

As much as the Stephen Hawkins with Tourettes in the beginning was quite amusing, it gives only so many plus points to this review. The main difference in the mechanical avant-garde emo shock-rock genre sound of Big Boyīs Ponygirl is the guitar sounds that lean towards thrash. The vocals, on the other hand sound like someone is trying to imitate Robert Smith and may die of boredom in the process of doing so.

Actually, there were times when it didnīt sound bad at all. Unfortunately those times occurred too seldom. None the less, if there was a chance to work up on the more successful parts and work down the boring bits, it could very much work. With that in mind, there are songs on the album that are worth listening to; similarly there is a glimmer of hope for future productions.

If you are into emo shock rock or nu-punk or anything in that general direction, do take a look because you may love it. Unfortunately this reviewer did not.
