A colorful album case with an elephant and a rainbow on the front cover – looks a lot like there´s some hippie feel going on and this presentiment is confirmed after putting the record in the player. Flashback 70s, a time when rock music still had soul and blues. A couple of years ago there was already a revival with bands like Wolfmother it almost seems like this genre never gets out of style. With their debut album, Jeremy Irons & the Ratgang Malibus from Stockholm now request access to the commune. And everything sounds pretty neat, the only thing is, it reminds me a little too much of Blind Melon. Especially Evening Dew is immediately kicked out and replaced in my brain by Soul One from the Nico album and that´s also the song that I remember after this really short record stopped spinning… So, may the cosmic vibes bring out some more own ideas next time around. Until then, “peace out, man”!
