This is what I call an album title: LAST NIGHT WHEN I TRIED TO SLEEP I FELT THE OCEAN WITH MY FINGERTIPS. It is more poetic, not just an usual record.
The man from Israel resumes his former record (´Summer Conquered By Rain´) and develops himself with it. Instead just guitar and Amit´s vocals on the past record, on LAST NIGHT WHEN… are partially more orchestral arrangements and a variety of instruments and different voices.
I think highly of this talented musician from Tel Aviv. He makes wonderful melodies and enables a journey into the soul, with each track.
I have to admit that the former record was easier to access than this new one. Of course- a single guitar and one voice make the entrance into a record easier. I had to listen three times to LAST NIGHT WHEN… to get into it, especially because there are two tracks which are a little bit bulky (for example: ´Secret Cards´). It seems that Amit´s roots, which are to find in harder music, came through. But that is good and sounds interesting.
Summary: AMIT EREZ has made a wonderful record with LAST NIGHT WHEN I TRIED TO SLEEP I FELT THE OCEAN WITH MY FINGERTIPS- once again.
