With „Calling“ the DONOTS get off to a dream start into their new record „The Long Way Home“. It´s one of those songs that simply sticks to your brain and won´t leave you alone for a long time thanks to its pretty cool chorus. On top of it, the snotty-charismatic voice and the skilled guitar work gives this song extra power, this is true also for the following “Forever Ends Today”. DONOTS can be put to the punk genre with a touch of the old rock era, a time without bad hairdos, kayal and skinny jeans. You can´t deny that “The Long Way Home” has also a certain pop appeal; however, in this case it´s a quality feature. The nine songs are rocky, catchy and really sound like countless hours in rehearsal rooms, tiny smelly clubs and on the backseats of a filthy van.
In short: This album available also as a pretty vinyl is fun listening to - simply a brilliant, honest punk record.
