These American guys are truly dinosaurs of melodic rock because Y&T were formed already back in 1970. Bands like Mötley Crüe and Metallica played as their support in the 80s. Nowadays you don´t hear so much from them anymore, especially here in Europe. After a temporary breakup in the 90s and the subsequent comeback, not with the original line-up, though, the story of the band continued. With 18 albums and three Greatest Hits Collections, the Americans have done a good job so far.
Facemelter is now the first studio album in 13 years and that with the original band members Dave Menikketi and Phil Kennemore plus the long-term members John Nymann and Mike Vanderhule. Facemelter shows the band at its best and you can prepare yourself for laid-back, rock songs with awesome vocals and skillful guitar riffs. A great album that proves that the guys definitely shouldn´t retire from the music business any time soon.
I can only recommend this band live because you really get what you hear on the record and that with a lot of charm, jokes from Phil and Dave and on top of it, you get a band that knows how to make music that is simply fun to listen to.
