The dark cellists made another small masterpiece with their latest album, “7th Symphony“. Despite my fears that the artists would repeat themselves, the Finns made a versatile album; it is still Apocalyptica, just somewhat harder. Six instrumental tracks – e.g. 2010 with Dave Lombardo - balance out the album brilliantly. The experiment, using guest singers and composers, has already been proven to work, and “7th Symphony” goes on the same lines. This time the guests include: Brent Smith (Shinedown) in “Not Strong Enough“, Lacey (Flyleaf) in “Broken Pieces”, Joe Duplantier (Gojira) with “Bring Them To Light” and Gavin Rossdale (Bush) in “End Of Me“. In this album the Finns go straight to the point, up to the extent, where one is never left wondering if vocals would have bought the song to perfection. As a tip, the track “Bring Them to the Light” - where the best from Gojira and Apocalyptica are fused into something new and exciting; and the track “Beautiful” - which gave me goose bumps, are definite must to hears.
