Michael Monroe should be a well-known name since the 80s, because this bird of paradise from Turku was the singer of Hanoi Rocks back then. When this band founded in 1980 disbanded already in 1985, Monroe continued as Solo artist, moved to New York and released several albums, worked with artists like Guns N’ Roses or Steppenwolf and sang on Slash’s „Coneheads“ Soundtrack. In the late 90s Monroe moved back to his homeland and settled once again in Finland.
Soon afterwards he and Andy McCoy reunited Hanoi Rocks and continued the trend of their early years, but once again Hanoi Rocks broke up in April 2009. Therefore the Solo artist Monroe is back, and with the release „Another Night in the Sun – Live in Helsinki“ he reminds us all what an ecxceptional artist he is, and he gives a preview of the new studio album which is recorded now in LA. “Another Night in the Sun“ offers a selection of his best songs from his Solo career. The audience is a bit contained there, but it is a recommendable live album with ass-kicking songs that get you going and will shorten the wait for the new Monroe studio album.
