In the booklet, winged grim reapers already give the listener a foreboding smile. In their hands they have ready-to-drop bombs that, in the case of Keitzer, stand for harsh death metal with light grind influences. It doesn´t take long then before these bombs hit your ear canals and blow them up properly. However, some hearing bones remain and they make you realise that the guys from North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany can do more than just thrashing and bashing. Especially the guitar work is great and reminds me here and there of Black Dahlia Murder. In contrast to BDM, there´s not much variation in the vocals, though. Misery Index is another band that is often mentioned in connection with Keitzer.

As the Word Burns is not a brand new album, it was already published for the first time in 2008. Now FDA Rekotz gave the record a well-deserved re-release. But after two years the time has come for some new material. We already look forward to it.
