In the last years Dream Theater were omnipresent, especially concerning releases. Therefore, another new solo album by James LaBrie!? Sounds a bit boring... but still, I put the CD in the stereo, press play and then… What is that? Is this really the new CD of James LaBrie? This is really heavy, with lots of Double Bass and GROWLS! So I swallow my yawning and begin to shake my head instead. The following XX minutes are some of the best minutes I have ever heard on a solo album. Catchy songs, really versatile (everything from ballades to uptempo) and real heavyness. What I really like is the fact, that the songs get to the point quite fast and do not have so many pointless instrumental parts like Dream Theater songs have. So it is now possible for everybody to enjoy one of the best voices in Heavy Metal, even if he or she has not studied musical sciences. For me a real big positive surprise!
